We just released a vintage bowling shirt collection in store TODAY! Many are King Louie brand, which was a local company. King Louie manufactured their clothing in three factories around Kansas City, and one a few hours south in Baxter Springs, Kansas. They began as the Lerner Brothers and made military clothing during WWII. After the war they went into sportswear and made bowling shirts because one of the brothers loved to bowl. They officially changed their clothing brand name to “King Louie” in 1952. They were so successful at making bowling shirts, they started their own King Louie bowling alleys in 1955 with clothing boutiques within, selling their product. Raised in Trinidad and Tabago, Jade has lived all over the world, from the UK, to Australia, to Denmark, and now in Essex, MA, where she makes all of her jewelry with a woman powered team. Her interest in art history and love of travel influences her work. Her pieces are inspired by vintage and antiques, and exude just the right touch of whimsy and playfulness.
