MAHALO 🥰🫶🏽❤️

Oh, Hilo. 🥹 You guys never cease to amaze us. Mahalo palena ‘ole to everyone who stopped by to see us this weekend at the merriemonarchcraftfair! I can’t tell you how heartwarming it is to see customers returning year after year and to meet new friends who are just discovering Puahina.

Merrie Monarch has always been our largest annual event and this year was no exception. Our ‘ohana is so humbled and grateful for the continued support of our family business. Each piece is hand silk screened by us, every design is made with intention. And to know that these little pieces of us end up in the hands of people who appreciate our passion, well, there’s just no words for that. 🫶🏽

Mahalo to the village that works so hard to help us with this big lift every year. From lending of materials and vehicles to housing us to booth staffing to watching our keiki so that we can jam it out at our booth to holding it down with the hālau so Kumu can be where I need to be, there are so many helping hands that make this possible. We seriously couldn’t do this without you. Love you guys so much!

Mahalo nui to the volunteers that make this amazing craft fair possible each year, we are so thankful to you all for the opportunity to come all the way from Kaua’i to share our designs. 💜

We don’t have much left but once it comes back on the barge, we’ll work on getting it up on the website. Until next year gang, mahalo. 🙏🏽 Aloha kekahi i kekahi, take care of one another. 🥰

🌿 52 Weeks of ʻŌlelo Noʻeau 🌿

Each week, we honor the wisdom passed down by our kūpuna through powerful Hawaiian proverbs. These ʻōlelo noʻeau are more than words—they’re reminders of who we are and what we value.

We made it to December, the last month of our calendar year. At this time, we pause and reflect on the year that weʻve had and make plans for the new year ahead. Each year I am so grateful for the lessons - both good and challenging - that I have been presented. Every lesson provides me an opportunity to grow and be better, not just for myself but for my family and community. Here's to continuing to learn and grow together as a lāhui! From our 'ohana to yours, we send you warmest wishes for an aloha-filled holiday and blessings for a bright new year.

This week’s ʻŌlelo Noʻeau:
📖 “Mai ka ʻōʻili ana a ka lā i Kumukahi a ka lā iho aku i ka mole ʻolu o Lehua.” – ʻŌlelo Noʻeau #2064

English Translation:
✨ From the appearance of the sun at Kumukahi till its descent beyond the pleasant base of Lehua. 🌅

Manaʻo:
💭 As the sun sets on 2025 and rises on 2026, we turn our attention to the new year ahead. Let us be grateful for all that has transpired this year and look forward with hope for what's to come. May this new year bring each of you and your ʻohana many blessings and much happiness.

Mahalo for being on this journey with us as we uplift our language, culture, and community. 💚

✨ Stand up straight; reach for the big and little paddle. 💪🏽

Manaʻo:
💭 This piece of wisdom was shared with young people, a reminder to be prepared for whatever may come your way. As we close our year and prepare for a new season, may we all ready ourselves for anything that might lie ahead. Let us have the strength to navigate these uncharted waters together to the best of our ability and support each other on the voyage ahead.

Mahalo for being on this journey with us as we uplift our language, culture, and community. 💚

📖 “Puʻuwai hao kila.” – ʻŌlelo Noʻeau #2767

English Translation:
✨ Heart of steel. ❤️‍🩹

Manaʻo:
💭 While this initially might lead us to believe that a reference is being made to someone who is heard-hearted, it is in fact a beautiful way to describe someone who is brave and fearless. I have heard this used to describe people like Liliʻuokalani, whose steadfast aloha for her nation required a kind of courage that I can only imagine. All of us, at some point in our lives, must endeavor to have this puʻuwai hao kila and summon a strength that we never knew we had.

Mahalo for being on this journey with us as we uplift our language, culture, and community. 💚

DAY 12...SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST? ✨

I don't know if I can truly say this is the "best" because I love all of our styles and we have offered some really amazing deals during this year's 12 Days of Christmas event BUT....goodness, these Holomuʻu are so loved! I think my favorite thing is that they look good on pretty much any size, any body type. And now, in addition to black, burgundy and (now pretty much gone) royal blue, we have them in a beautiful emerald shade. 💚 If you didn't know, green is my favorite color and I am in love with how these came out! Available with the ever popular ʻiwaʻiwa and for the first time with palaʻā, we printed these exclusively with custom mixed metallic colors. 🌟 And they came out GORGEOUS! So if you have one of our Holomuʻu already or you were wanting to try one out, NOW'S the time because at 25% off, they donʻt get any cheaper! Happy Holidays, family and friends, enjoy!

DAY 11: MAHALO MŌHALU 🌺🌺🌺

Mōhalu means to blossom and these dresses/skirts do just that when they are spun. The circle skirt literally blooms out, unfolding to showcase design on both the front and the back. 🫶🏾 These can be worn as a tube dress, an empire-waisted strapless dress, or a long skirt making them the most versatile of all of our styles. When designing these, I chose a heavyweight fabric, improving the drape on the body and helping the top to maintain its shape and hold. These are the lowest prices that we will offer on these and stock is pretty limited so grab one today!

🥰 PŪLAMA = CHERISHED, DAY 10 DEAL 🥰

Our Day 10 Deal is $15 off our most popular top style. An elevated version of the beloved dolman t-shirt, I wear these shirts almost every day! Dress them up with some slacks or down with some jeans, either way you have a comfortable outfit to spend the day in. We have multiple colors available and our widest size range, XS-3XL. They are a relaxed fit so select your normal size and it'll fit just right. This is the lowest price we have ever offered on these so pick up several! 🙌🏽

❄ SNUGGLE WEATHER SAVINGS ❄

Okay, I know it doesn't get super cold here but there's definitely a little chill in the air. And to celebrate that, our Pumehana Cardigans and our Hoodies are 25% off! Both styles are lightweight, perfect for layering and just warm enough to keep you comfortable after the sun goes down. Unlike our first run of Hoodies, we've reworked these to be more of a unisex fit so select the size you normally wear and you'll be all good. 👍🏽 And we've printed them with our custom mix metallic inks, what's not to love? The Hoodies are full-zip, the Pumehana Cardigans are open front so lots of options for the perfect look. 💁🏻‍♀️
