During my summer months off from teaching corrosion courses at Kilgore College, I teach corrosion courses for AMPP. These classes are week-long, out-of-town classes, so I'll have extra limited time at the leathershop for July and August.

For the month of July, the shop will only be open the following days:
*Sat, 07/08 12:00 - 5:00
*Sat, 07/22 12:00 - 5:00

Keep an eye out for some "Christmas in July" specials that I'll be running later this month for custom orders for Christmas! 🎅🎄

Come out to Downtown Kilgore and enjoy this beautiful weather while touring the Kilgore Art Walk.

I am doing a leather tooling demo to show the steps in creating a tooled leather item.

The below image shows the various stages of a tooled wallet back. First, we start with a clean, plain piece of vegetable tan leather. Next, we draw/trace a design on the leather. Then, we cut the design into the leather and bevel each line to give 3D relief to the design. Last, we add texture to the background areas to enhance the 3D effect.
