Just finished sewing up these potholders. Mom was in need of some new ones, so l whipped some up and made some improvements from the last ones she bought. They are very sturdy and should last awhile despite nearly constant use.

People have been asking what I use to sew all my baby clothes and other designs. This is my treadle sewing machine. It is a Singer, Model 27 Sphinx. It was made in May of 1902, and has been in my family for 4 generations.
I have several machines but my treadle is by far my favorite. One of the biggest reasons why I use my treadle over a newer sewing machine is, I can be more precise over speed and where I place each stitch. Plus I will always use an older machine when I have the chance, the older the better in my opinion!
