OUR MISSION
Our goal is to raise awareness to the mental health crisis that faces our youth and provide information on the services and tools that exist in our community. We will have a variety of free art workshops, yoga with United We Om, pickleball courts & lessons and many other fun activities. We hope to get a lot of young people (teens & 20’s)to participate.
We will be giving out free: "self care kits,” a recycled tote locally screen printed that included mental health zines with resources, coping skills, and different breathing methods, positive postcards, a blank journal, and information about local organizations.
The event was created in memory of our late 19-year-old daughter/sister, Cassidy Flood, to raise awareness to the mental health crisis that faces our youth and provide an opportunity for the community to connect in memory of Cassidy’s spirit.
Rewind Kingston is proud to be a partner with the community we serve. To date, we have raised over $40,000 supporting organizations like United We Om and The Maya Gold Foundation. Funds raised will support youth mental health training by The Maya Gold Foundation as well as funding a new initiative of free community events at Rewind Kingston. We are raising money to create a nonprofit to expand our weekly “Study Hall,” a concept that evolved from our free weekly mixed media journaling to include more free after-school activities for both adults and young people like drawing, crocheting, songwriting, using clay, and writing workshops led by instructors. Free Pickleball Beginner lessons, also a part of our Wellness Wednesday, will begin again in the spring from 6-8pm on Wednesday evenings on Field Court.
