Nothing beats a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway! We hiked, camped in Pisgah National Forest and caught the beginning of autumn leaves changing.
​We made a stop in Waynesville for some fantastic Cuban food and finally checked out Carolina Readiness Supply. If you haven't been, their inventory of books, food storage, and medical supplies is top notch. Such a great trip!

You expect to run into wildlife in the Cherokee National Forest, but having my parents show up unexpectedly at camp, was the best surprise! Turned out to be a foodies campout!
​We all teamed up to cook dinner over the fire, enchiladas and a blueberry crumble. Also quick stops at for ham and bacon & the new Cherohala Outpost on the skyway for pizza

We welcomed in fall with a relaxing stay deep in the Cherrokee National Forest Holly Flats campground. Imagine 2 whole days of campfires, no cell service and long walks in the forest! We made a quick stop at the and our friends at used gear shop.

Another awesome TN State Park. Nothing like camping under the trees, cooking over the fire and enjoying flat water paddling! If you have not been to Rock Island the gorge walls are really spectacular.
