This is a hard post. I will be closing the shop as of Oct 15. I will be finishing up the jobs I have by next week but will not take any more alterations after Oct 10. If you had called about wedding alterations in the future, I will still do them for you. Thank you all so much for your business! I appreciate your trust in my work and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this small community. I plan to eventually do alterations out of my home but for now, I am going to take a break and finish my own projects. I had also put my tailoring classes on hold because I was so busy, so I plan to finish up those courses and spend more time with my family and friends….doing retirement things.😁 Thanks again!

Good morning! I can see light! It’s dim but still light at the end of the tunnel. Bridal alterations will always come first in the shop, so if you have dropped off other items, I should be getting to them soon. This week I had my first winter jacket dropped off for zipper replacement. That went right to the bottom of the pile!😁 I’m hoping to get information about classes I will be starting this fall out to you in the next few weeks. I plan on starting them towards the end of October (once it is nicer inside than outside). Everything in my life depends on the weather now. When the temp outside is under 80, I am a much happier, more productive person. Have a great day!

Summer and fall hours- I will be open by appointment for the most part, but…..

If it is raining and the weather is crappy, I will probably be in the shop.
If it is a beautiful day, I will probably be doing something outside (gardening, biking, kayaking or sipping wine at a local winery listening to music).
If it is miserably hot and humid, I will probably be in the air conditioned shop.
If it is a weekend, I will probably be watching baseball.
If it is 2 am and I can’t sleep, you may find me in the shop….come hang out, but bring wine (or coffee).

I know….this is not helpful for people who like structure and always plan ahead. As much as I strive for consistency and discipline, I fly by the seat of my pants and at 67 years of age, I’m pretty sure that is how I will finish out the time I have left. I am beyond fixing.🥹

I will be out of the shop this week (3/31-4/4). Taking a few days off from sewing to hang with my grand dog while her family is away. She can’t see me or hear me BUT I always get the best welcome when I come. Apparently I have a scent.😁

When Rob said he wanted to make a camo type winter cover for his back pack, I wasn’t sure where to start. He had an idea of what he wanted but we had no pattern. So we “winged it”. Yes, we had to do a little seam ripping but that’s part of sewing. He is a very patient person. We finished it up tonight. This has been a lot of fun!

I love teaching people how to sew….especially when they are passionate about learning. I have a feeling that Rob approaches everything in life with that same passion and excitement.
