My art show piece found a new home!
“The Soul Of Tiki” is a subtle homage to the one and only Tiki Diablo: I was in the middle of the painting process when I heard the sad news about his passing. Initially, the idea (and the name) was a bit different but I was moved to add TD’s Skullhunter mug as a tribute to one of the most creative souls and biggest inspiration in our tiki culture.
A couple of little eastereggs in the art is the TD initials and a white lily in the wahine’s hair, a tropical flower commonly known as a symbol of mourning. And there is a Morse code message carved in the frame. Can you tell what it is?
