Sew Blessed Alterations I specialize in wedding gown alterations, with experience in a wide range of adjustments and custom projects. My story started when I was a teenger in 4-H.

I typically accept only two brides per month to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail. My mother taught me to sew when I was young and I later designed and made my senior year prom dress! I went on to major in textiles clothing and design at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I interned at Suburban Bridal and David's Bridal, learning how to do wedding alterations. I now work out of my home studio doing all sorts of alterations and projects.

Taylor chose a classic and elegant satin ball gown for her wedding day. We met several times throughout the alteration process, taking in the side seams to achieve the perfect fit and hemming the gown to the ideal length. Taylor also requested a ballroom bustle—a style I hadn't created before—but I was excited for the opportunity to learn something new. The bustle turned out beautifully and complemented her gown perfectly!

Taylor looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. I also had the pleasure of altering dresses for her sister and mother, making the experience even more special. They were such a fun group to work with, and I'm so grateful to have been a small part of their celebration. Wishing Taylor and her family a lifetime of wonderful memories! ❤️✨

Pallavi moved to the United States about 17 years ago to pursue her education, and it was here that she met her husband. The couple was married last year in India in a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony that honored Pallavi's heritage and culture. This year, they celebrated with an American wedding surrounded by family and friends, and I had the honor of helping Pallavi with her gown alterations.

Her dress fit beautifully, requiring only a hem and bustle to make it perfect for her special day. I also had the pleasure of assisting her mother-in-law, Susan, with alterations for her dress. It was such a joy working with both of these beautiful women and being a small part of such a meaningful celebration. I had the absolute best time working with these four ladies to get their bridesmaids dresses wedding-ready for a beautiful celebration in Phoenix! Each gown needed taken in, shortened, and we customized their draped sleeves to be removable for a versatile look. The final result was absolutely stunning — and so were they! ✨👗

Katie and I met several times to get her dress fitting just perfectly — especially since her gown was several sizes too big! In the end, we took it in about four sizes, hemmed several layers, and finished it with a bustle to bring up her beautiful train.

We tailored her dress to fit her perfectly by taking in the side seams, shortening it (a lot 😉), and adding a bustle.

But the most meaningful detail was something truly special—Peggy shared a touching story about her mother, who is no longer with us, and asked me to stitch a piece of her mother’s wedding gown into the inside of her dress.

A beautiful way to have her mom close to her on such an important day 💫

What an amazing 2025! ✨

I was sew blessed to work with 15 brides this year (one not pictured), along with many members of their bridal parties. I also had the joy of helping several young ladies with their prom dress alterations and completing one of the most special projects I have ever been asked to do.

I’m already looking forward to what 2026 has in store and am currently working with my first bride of the year on her wedding dress alterations. I accept a maximum of two brides per month, and my summer and fall months are almost completely booked.

Michaela was a beautiful November bride! 🤍 She purchased this gown off the rack, and it was about three sizes too big. We took in the side seams, hemmed the dress, and added an 11-point bustle to lift the train off the floor—so she could dance the night away at her reception!
