Honest Cotton Honest Cotton is a female owned and operated clothing collection created for women who value comfort and design.

We specialize in one hundred percent cotton clothing that is machine washable and extremely versatile, to bring more ease to your everyday. Honest Cotton founder Angela Humphrey was raised between her hometown Austin, Texas and her mother's hometown of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She learned the process of making handmade clothing at a young age from her mother, clothing designer Maria Dolores Resend

iz. Maria started the family business in 1991, wanting to continue her work as a designer while also staying home to raise her two young children. Today, Angela follows in her footsteps to ensure that Honest Cotton adheres to the same strong values as her mother's company. Foregoing the traditional maquiladora manufacturing method (Spanish for clothing factory), Honest Cotton employs local artisan women in Puerto Vallarta who are able to work from home. This allows them to practice their craft in a comfortable setting, away from the harsh working conditions of mass-producing garment factories. Many of the women who started with Maria in 1991 continue to work with Angela at Honest Cotton today.
