Stepping into the unknown can be scary, but learning to surrender is the lesson.

Maui! You have been so good to us. You are our home, my keiki’s piko. I’m so grateful for this 'āina and its people and all the pilina I’ve made in the last 15 years. Mahalo mai ku'u pu'uwai.

To make lei 'ilima, you must gather the flowers before they open in the morning sun. You would need 500-1,000 of this tissue-thin flower just to make a single strand. Hours of stillness, focus and love goes into one lei which only lasts for a day.

When strung together, 'ilima flowers resemble the golden yellow feather lei (lei hulu) that was made from the feathers of the Mamo bird. Because of this resemblance, the lei 'ilima was reserved for royalty + ali'i.

Made of the softest cotton jersey with an oversized, flowy, not too cropped feel. Perfect to pair with high waisted denim or to throw over your swimwear after a dip in the sea.

Our designs are hand stitched on 100% linen. Punch needle is a slow a process that invokes the same presence + patience as Hawaiian quilting. Each design represents different plants that are either native or special to our home, Hawai'i. All kuiki is hand drawn by me.
