Early First Star ✨
7 years today I took a leap and started a small handmade business. At that time it was inspired park Ears, so EFS, Ears Full of Sugar was born. And, almost 6 years that name completely suited what I was making and creating.
Last year, 2022, life happened. After being shut in the pervious 2ish years, I need to get out. I took a large step back from EFS and spent my time, all my time, at the winery and farm. I don’t regret this step back. If I am going to be honest my love for EFS wasn’t there at this time. I wasn’t happy. I wanted a different path. A new creative journey.
Now, the name change has been a long time coming, actually the name had been decided probably little more than a year ago. Why a name change? Because, I am not just a person who creates inspired park ears. I create a lot more. I wanted EFS to reflect that. So…. Early First Star came. I took a lot of time (more than I did with Ears Full of Sugar) to curate this name change. Here’s how it came about…
I wanted the name to reflect me and what I love and who I am. I also wanted to say with the letters E-F-S. That was important to me. In that, I played with one main theme that then snowballed into covering a lot of things all in one.
Libra. I am a very much a Libra, every and all little traits. The Libra constellation even looks like a kite. Paying homage to Mary Poppins, the way Ears Full of Sugar did.
Okay. Libra. Let’s go from this. I started to search all the things that are ‘libra’. How can I fit it into the letters ‘EFS’ … S, star? Libra’s ruling planet is Venus, Venus is…….. The First Star in the morning sky. I fell in love with this. It fit. ‘EFS’ - Early First Star.
The logo and coloring, which is a work of pure talent from .keckdesigns pays tribute to my love for Star Wars, in the sand dunes for Tatooine. The colors came from Padme’s flowing dress she wears on Naboo. The stars and moons all play on the Libra celestial feel and the play to Star Wars. With just a hint of that dainty vibe in which my love Bridgerton will come into play.
What’s coming? Well, some hints are on the website. But, stay tuned to see more peeks as I create them.
