Maybe you’re wondering…where has she been? Maybe you’re not, but I’m going to tell you anyway! Lol!

Honestly? Life.

We all have trials and troubles in our lives and it can get overwhelming. Sometimes debilitating. That’s what I’ve been going through.

August 2017 began the story of where I am today. Actually it started in the summer of 2013, but that’s a longer story for another day.

Hurricane Harvey hit our area and it affected everything in my life. My marriage, my business, my personal life. Even though the hurricane eventually moved on, the storm in my life did not. After my marriage ended, I struggled to make ends meet as a single parent with 4 children. After fighting so hard to keep my business going and take care of my family, I finally made the difficult choice to close my storefront and focus on my family. In December 2018 I sold off my inventory and put my business up for sale.

Fast forward to 2020. This was the year of major transformation. I finally found a buyer for my business, sold the home we lived in for 16+ years, and moved to a new town.

Now 2021. We moved to our new place in June. To say it was easy would be a complete lie. I still have boxes to unpack everywhere and 2 storage units to clean out. Yikes!

Here we are nearing the end of the year and I’m starting over. Again. I suppose everyone goes through these seasons of life where everything must be burned to the ground for renewal. But man…it sucks!

I’ll share more of my story as we get to know each other again. Hopefully it will help someone get through a tough time. I know it helps me to see I’m not alone in my struggle.
