I’ve had this idea for a few years now after buying a sweatshirt that said “choose happy”. Every time I put it on, my mindset immediately shifted- “choose happy”. I would also get compliments from people who loved the sweatshirt, throughout the day, and the opportunity to exchange a smile and a short friendly conversation is something I’ve always enjoyed. Shop the Positivitee] is meant to initiate these smiles and these friendly little conversations. When you put on one of these shirts in the morning and you see it in the mirror, you’ll feel like smiling. These shirts will give you a boost of positivity, so that as you go through your day- you choose to smile at others. Others will read your shirt and feel a jolt of positivity flow through their souls. All of these things can lead to us all being a little kinder and brighter to each other as we pass one another in our daily lives. THAT is what Shop the Positivitee] is all about. 💕

During my 81 day road trip last summer I realized I wanted to be more educated on being good to the planet. I also became aware of the negative environmental effects of fast fashion. As someone who has always loved clothes, I learned how much excess textile is dumped in landfills each year to just sit. Did you know that Nylon fabric takes 30 to 40 years to decompose, and lycra and polyester material takes 500+ years to breakdown? Crazy huh? I wanted to create this company, not only to spread positivity but to promote the idea of buying from a thrift shop or 2nd hand. I want to show you that there isn’t always a need to buy new and often times (and more often than not) you’ll spend less money! Each T-shirt sale is a shirt that doesn’t end up in a landfill and that makes me happy. We may not be able to fix the problem entirely but we can do our part. 💕

*side note if you ever have clothing you don’t think is good enough to be donated- think about ripping them apart to use as cleaning cloths or if they’re clean but have holes you can drop them at a bin for a textile donation. Please feel free to share your tips for being better to the planet below in the comments! I love to learn!

With everything that goes on in our world on a daily basis, my goal in my lifetime is to leave this planet and the people around me better than I found it/them. I believe this company is just a tiny step in my path to doing that. We never know how our actions can effect someone else- how just saying hi with a smile to a stranger can turn their day around if they’ve been feel ignored. “In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind.” Let’s spread the positiviTEE 💕
