Welcome to The Micro Lifestyle
Good morning,
I am truly grateful that you have joined me here this morning. Today I will begin by giving a brief history of my journey. It all started at the amazing age of a 10-year-old when one day I asked my mother “why can’t we all live a simple life” to witch her replay was oh hunni it’s not that simple, I really never thought how that very same question would come back into my life. For me during my working life as a business owner I was truly fixated on the fact success was based on what you showed for all of your energy big house, lots of land and an abundance of material things. I was working 13 hours a day Monday through Saturday then on Sunday I would work diligently to maintain a lifestyle that society refers to as a “successful life” for 25 years. Fast forward to 2007 we all went through a crisis within our economic system to where I too felt the effects of everything I worked for faded away. In the beginning of 2008 divorced, no job, dealing with major health issues as I lived in a 360-sf apartment starting over with no happiness asking the same question “why can’t life be simple”.
“The only thing in life that has consistency is change”
With a true desire to rebuild my life I knew from the start that I need to start with one simple principal and that was simplicity. I went back to the basics of life a shift in mindset as it was relying on the true mentors in the past present and the future. With pencil, paper and the internet as my tools I worked harder than I ever had in the past for years to aid me in a lifestyle that I have today. During the past 8 years, I took a hard look into what was truly important in my life and that was to cultivate an abundance of happiness in mind body and spirit with deep rooted philosophy of quality over quantity the corner stone of what the micro lifestyle is built upon. Today I still live in that same 360-sf apartment and I’m proud to say that what my home represent is a home built with love a space that brings me so much joy because what is in my home is truly important to me and the values that I believe in, when you have less to maintain life opens the doors true importance and for that I am so grateful.
Sincerely
Sheina Marie
