Lakeside Amusement Park is a family-owned amusement park in Lakeside, Colorado. Opened in 1908, it is the oldest amusement park in Colorado still operating in its original location, and is the last remaining White City-style park in the United States. It really does need some love. I mean, when you go to buy tickets for entry, they tell you flat out, in not so many words, that it's pretty much a gamble on what rides will be running that day. Denverites and Coloradans deserve better! Save Lakeside!

Yogis of all levels can begin their day by flowing in the serene and beautiful outdoor setting of the iconic Red Rock Amphitheatre. Every Saturday morning from June to August, excluding the weekend of the 4th of July, get a vital workout led by world-class instructors. It’s a great way to bring peace and a sense of groundedness to your busy summer days. Just pop out of bed, grab your mat, and join the many early risers for a workout with a view that starts at 7 am, but you can claim a spot as early as 6 am. Classes will be held on Saturdays from May 30th to August 29th, 2026. You can choose between purchasing just a session ticket or a season pass, but tickets must be purchased in advance online.

I've heard it's super crowded, gets super hot and traffic is miserable! For Milo and I, we don't have the traffic issue, but what do you guys think? Those with the urge to travel back to the 16th century should make sure to include the Colorado Renaissance Festival in their summer festival lineup. Taking place annually in Larkspur, the festival is normally held on Saturday and Sunday from mid-June to early August. A great event for the family, there will be plenty of turkey legs, mead, wine, and sweets to go around. The Colorado Renaissance Festival spans acres of land and runs rain or shine. Guests are encouraged to dress up and there are outfit rentals on-site. This year’s event starts on June 13th and continues through August 2nd, 2026.

The Denver Chalk Art Festival showcases over two hundred artists pain...

The Denver Chalk Art Festival showcases over two hundred artists painting their masterpieces in the Mile High City’s Golden Triangle neighborhood. Previously held on Larimer Street starting in 2003, they will now turn this popular neighborhood into a museum of street art that is free to the public. This year’s event took place on Saturday and Sunday, June 6th to 7th, 2026. In the past, the Denver Chalk Art Festival partnered with Larimer Arts, but now they host the festivities with CherryArts. The art is quite temporary, and by the end of the day on Sunday, the streets will be washed of all evidence of the festival. Watch for next year's event!
