Looking for a partime hand sewing instructor for local elementary school K-2nd grade and in-house machine sewing classes in Larchmont. Must love working with kids, sewing and have a passion for arts/crafts. This teaching opportunity will be an ongoing position with room to expand to teach other classes starting in September. Would suit college student, teacher or local person with own transportation.
Must be close to Larchmont/Mamaroneck area.

MINI FASHION DESIGN CAMP!
This fun sewing camp is suitable for all levels of sewers, including
beginners Age 7 +. Sewers will be introduced to the sewing machine and safety rules.

In this camp they will learn-
Fashion sketching, create a mood board and life size draping on a fashion mannequin!
They will learn about proportion of the body, shape and different fabrics.
Choice to sew their own simple sundress or circular skirt.
The student will learn how to follow a commercial sewing pattern, in addition to measurements, pinning, cutting, grain of pattern and seam allowance.
Suitable for beginners and up, age 7+.
Additional fun fashion challenges and daily mini mannequin creation!

These students really owned the runway in their complete designs 💃

Every garment was hand crafted over the course of 8 sessions. After sketching ideas, choosing fabric, creating the pattern, and sewing it all together, they have a new outfit made completely by themselves.
