Mood Board- Kujo SS21.
Happy Thursday!
this is where a collection begins for me in my design process.
Create a vibe, a colorway, things that spark ideas into a cohesive vision so when you get a "no inspo" bug you can look back and see where your seeds of a collection started from in the first place.
Side fact-Did you know people in the fashion industry get paid a full time salary to create trend forecasts and mood boards for big name brands on the daily?
It's how direction happens, it's how focus stays in tact, it's how a whole team of designers are directed to stay within the "brand" when designing.
I do this for 7 diff. Brands for the Corp. world just as part of how I design and understand the brand I am working for. When I do it for my brand, its a reminder that what I do for the mass produced brands that generate thousands, I can absolutely do for my sweet small business that is lucky to break even β£οΈ. This is not a bad thing, shoot I struggle with charging for my art in any shape or form, I do it to spread love not make money...but I'm learning to get my business hat on the hard way, and oh boy I hate it. Yet, deep in my soul I know my work, your work, your time, my time, your passion, my passion... is absolutely worth it. Don't settle for less than what you are worth!β¨
Maybe one day I'll have a team of people helping me keep up with a brand vision but, until then I have me, myself, and I- and the hope that y'all see where I am going and remember me when I was here @ a moodboard, just like I will remember all of you where you are at (growing rapidly in beautiful ways). The only way to keep rising is to support, encourage, and lift each other. Cause we all are mother fudgin' talented humans with fire in our souls, that can make pretty much anything happen. π
Cheers to Mood Boards and moments where you realize "Yessss, I can do this". ππ
Oh and PS. It's okay to take your time, Rome wasn't built in a day was it? π
Xo,
Kujo
