BERNINA Sewing and Designs opened its doors in October of 2005 to serve the customers of the El Paso and Southern New Mexico region. My husband Izzy and I had been looking for a business that we could work on together and when Ann of Ann Silva’s BERNINA in Albuquerque suggested a need for a dealership in our area, we knew we’d found our opportunity. I’ve been sewing since I was five-years-old and
quilting for over twenty-three years. I worked for the Little Foot Ltd Co., traveling to quilt shows, various guilds and shops around the world teaching the Little Foot method of foundation piecing. At the same time, Izzy had been busy running his construction and concrete company and fixing anything that needed fixing. With his business experience and repair skills and my sewing background we knew BERNINA Sewing and Designs was a perfect fit. We are fortunate to a have a staff of wonderful ladies with amazing talents and backgrounds, and each one loves to sew, quilt and teach. It’s because of them that our shop is known for its knowledgeable and friendly customer service. Izzy’s right hand man Dave, is an expert at keeping sewing machines in tip top condition and together they form the best repair service in the area.
