Lawson Cardinal Closet is a Lawson, MO free community clothes resource that started with a focus on winter gear. We take donations of gently used or new coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots or other cold weather gear as well as general clothing and shoes. If this resource can help in any way within the community, it has served it's purpose! By appointment.

Lawson Cardinal Closet is a free clothing closet for the community. We offer men, women and children's clothing 6t and up. We currently have a large awesome selection of women's shoes and clothing from casual to business of all sizes, many coats, gloves, scarves, jackets and sweatshirts, and a small selection of children's and men's clothing and shoes. We also have a small selection of GORGEOUS prom dresses! All clothing is new or gently used and of great quality.
Please let me stress that this is for ALL to enjoy. What better way to shop for new clothes than for FREE!
Need a new dress? Jeans? Shoes? Need to swap out your wardrobe? Have a job interview or event coming up? Sometimes we even have costumes! Have some nice clothing to purge? Bring it in, someone else will love it!

Children's shoes and clothing 6t and up
Baskets for shorts, blankets and toiletries

Good evening! Another evening of sorting and hanging conplete! I am currently full on women's clothing so other than the couple of people I have already spoken to about taking their donations in ( Debbie Sue Nelson Adreon and Becky Parker ) I will not be intaking any for now.
What I do need:
Anything on Amazon wish list ( baskets and personal hygiene items)
Boys and men's clothing all sizes 5t and up.
Jackets, sweatshirts and coats
Boys, girls and men's shoes
Please remember all donations need to be new or gently used, free of stains, pet hair or damage and clean.

Good morning community. We have a specific need of men's clothing size small. That's the extent of the information I have other than needing everything from underwear ( new ) and clothing so pants shirts etc and I would imagine socks as well. I would also guess toiletries would help this gentleman out as well if anyone feels moved to give them. Feel free to reach out to me and I can coordinate pick up. 816-826-6061

I have almost gotten through what I currently have and will be reaching out to those who have offered donations to organize the next round. You guys are amazing! 💚

Also! There is a post in the Excelsior Citizen page of someone looking for donations of men's clothing for an inpatient rehab facility trying to start a collection of men's clothing for them to have on hand. 💚 I know many can help her out!

Good morning! Ok now that I have my work traveling out of the way and got my life partially back in order I will be working at the closet tonight to get through the donations I currently have and seeing where I am with space before taking in another round. I am so grateful for all of the willingness to offer donations! I am limited on space so I will let everyone know in the next couple of days what I can take in for the next round and a date for drop off.

Good morning! We have started moving into the new space! I have quite a bit to get sorted and hung this week. I am hoping to start taking donations and making appointments by this weekend. I will reach out to those who have messaged about having donations first, then post about needs once I have that organized.
New or gently used items accepted. Please make sure all donations are clean and free of damage, stains and pet hair.
Please do not donate clothing that has a specific company such as uniforms, company t shirts etc. These rarely get used and end up taking up space.
If you have questions about any potential donations, please feel free to ask!

Good evening! God is so so good! I am so excited! God was working in 2025! After having to dismantle the clothing closet and exhausting all ideas to bring it back, I started accepting that it's season had ran it's course. 3.5 years of a project of the heart was coming to an end. I started getting rid of my stock, my racks, my shelves and coming to the conclusion that God was telling me to take a break.
But He had something up His sleeve and a few months ago someone reached out to me about a space. I couldn't believe it! And what a perfectly placed space it was! It took a few months for everything to be finalized and ready but tonight I got to pick up the key! So I am so happy to share that the Lawson Cardinal Closet will be in the same building as Baby Grace! I am so so grateful to everyone at the United Methodist Church that made this possible! I am so truly in awe of the way God moves and knows how to lay a path for huge blessings! I am so over joyed at the chance to open back up and begin serving our community again! And so hopeful for the potential for future possibilities! I will begin moving into the space soon and update everyone with an opening date and begin taking appointments again! To everyone who has asked about taking donations...thank you!! I will be as soon as I get what I have into the space and see what needs are. More to come!!

Hello everyone!! I have some amazing news!! After having to retire the closet due to no longer having a space for it, I have been approached with a wonderful solution and will have more details soon!! I am so so excited and my heart is so happy to be able to get this ministry back up and serving soon!! God is so good!
While I had accepted that the Lawson Cardinal Closet had come to it's season's end and was thankful for almost 4 years of opportunity to serve our community, I was very sad to no longer offer it. It's been a labor of love, service and a privilege!
I will update once details are worked out and I begin to set up the new space. I will definitely be looking to start accepting donations again due to donating most of what I had including hangers and racks!
If you have stand alone shelving or clothing racks and hangers you would like to donate please reach out to me!
