Some people deserve more than a private “thank you.” They deserve to be acknowledged publicly for everything they bring to the table when nobody else sees it.
So tonight, I want to give Nicole her flowers. 💐
A lot of people see GIVS Inc Nonprofit. They see Good Impressions. They see the events, the businesses, the community work, the ideas coming to life, the doors opening and the progress being made.
What they don’t always see is Nicole.
They don’t see the conversations behind the scenes. The encouragement when things get frustrating. The extra set of eyes when a decision needs to be made. The help, the sacrifices, the patience, the support and the countless little things that keep everything moving when life gets heavy.
Nicole has been an important part of GIVS and Good Impressions in ways that a title could never fully explain.
There have been moments when I was tired, irritated, overwhelmed, discouraged or ready to say “forget it,” and she still found a way to remind me why the mission mattered. When I have ten ideas happening at once, somehow she manages to help make sense of eleven of them. 😂
But seriously…
When you’re building something meaningful, you eventually learn that success isn’t only about the person standing in front of the camera. It’s also about the people who stand beside the vision when there is no applause, no recognition and no guarantee that any of it is going to work.
Nicole has done that.
For me.
For Good Impressions.
For GIVS.
And for countless people in this community who may never even realize the role she played in helping us help them.
I probably don’t say it enough, and I definitely don’t acknowledge it publicly enough, but her presence matters. Her opinion matters. Her effort matters. And I am extremely grateful for everything she contributes to what we’re building.
You are appreciated more than you know, Nicole.
Thank you for believing in the vision, helping carry the weight and continuing to show up.
