There is a growing movement toward using sustainable, natural polymers in manufacturing. Natural polymers, also known as biopolymers, are derived from renewable resources such as the ShedSkin/Protein matrix EdenBio has developed for its new Gen.One line of durable fashion products. These protein based polymers offer a number of benefits over their synthetic counterparts, including:
- Environmental sustainability: Natural polymers are biodegradable and compostable, meaning they can be broken down by natural processes and do not accumulate in the environment.
- Reduced carbon footprint: Production of natural polymers typically has a lower carbon footprint compared to synthetic polymers, as they require less energy to produce and do not emit as many greenhouse gases.
- Health benefits: Many natural polymers are non-toxic and biocompatible, making them suitable for use in many health conscious applications.
- Economic benefits: Using natural polymers can provide economic benefits to local communities by supporting sustainable agriculture and forestry practices.

Preservation is completed for this large batch of ShedSkin from Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes living in the Kentucky Reptile Zoo. Each unique wallet being created from this shed promotes cruelty-free, sustainable fashion. Each wallet will support the animal and the wonderful work performed at the Zoo. Each wallet is a conversation about medical research and the human benefit of supporting conservation.

From the Founder:
"My goal is not to sell fashion, it is to provide an additional vehicle for the educators to teach about the importance of conserving these animals. They have been effectively teaching for a long time. Eden exists to provide new and cutting edge paths."

Reuse & Upcycle: Reducing Environmental Impact

The fashion industry is actively working on solutions to reduce environmental impact. One of the main reasons for this is the way in which clothing is produced, consumed, and disposed of. Many clothes are produced in developing countries, where environmental regulations are often lax, and then shipped halfway around the world to be sold. Once they are no longer wanted, they are often thrown away, ending up in landfills where they can take decades to break down.

EdenBio contributes to the environmental impact reduction pool by highlighting the human need for reptile biodiversity around the globe. No reptile is harmed in the production of our exotic skin, and many of the partners we receive the natural shedskin from maintain expertise in the public education of habitat and medical research benefit.

EdenBio also participates in reuse & upcycling.

We purchases the leathers and silk we utilize for the substrate production of our cruelty-free ShedSkin from not-for-profit humanitarian organizations. Reusing clothes not only helps to reduce waste, but it also has a number of other sustainable benefits.

One of the main benefits of reuse is that it reduces the demand for new clothes. This, in turn, means that fewer resources are needed to produce them. For example, it takes 2,700 liters of water to produce a single cotton t-shirt. By reusing clothes, we can significantly reduce the amount of water and other resources needed to produce new clothing.

Reuse also helps reduce carbon emissions. By reusing clothes, we can help lower carbon emissions from production and transport, as it requires less energy to produce and transport new clothing. It also saves money!

Reuse is a sustainable way to reduce the fashion industry's environmental impact. By reusing clothes, we can conserve resources, lower carbon emissions, and extend the life of clothing. Next time you're in need of a new outfit, consider shopping secondhand or donating your old clothes instead of buying new ones.

Who's ready to protect an iPhone and Wildlife at the same time?

From research on various species and their habitats, to efforts along side conservation organizations and government agencies, the Sternberg Museum of Natural History of Fort Hays State University works to develop and implement conservation initiatives.

You can help with these initiatives by bringing part of the museum with you wherever you go!

EdenBio has worked in collaboration with Sternberg to bring you the PROTECT Wildlife line of iPhone cases. The museum houses one of the coolest rattlesnake collections in the world!

These iPhone cases are created from the natural ShedSkin of the living reptiles that are housed in the museum. More than a conversation starter, the purchase of each case supports the museums animals and their conservation initiatives.

Stop by or contact the Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays, Kansas for yours!
