While attending Breckinridge County High School in my Sophomore year I took a computer class called Multimedia Publishing. In that class we learned various computer programs and other business related subjects. One day my teacher asked me to work in a small room of to the side with a Senior at the time named Paige Carman. I had always seen her in the room the glass window to the room said “Tiger
Paw Publishing”. So here I am being taken into this small room to work with someone I had never met before not knowing exactly what to expect. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be making a t-shirt using a printer (actually a Cutter Plotter machine) and a computer. Paige taught me everything she knew about the program, the machine, the materials, the process and little did I know I would be the main person sitting in the chair doing all the work the following year. My teacher Kelly White saw something in me, potential in me rather and asked me to step out of my comfort zone to teach me something she knew I could handle. My Junior year I was the main designer, Cutter, and picker(weeding the materials to only have the design I needed.) Over the course of my Junior year I learned even more and only improved on the quality of my designs and creative aspect of what designs and groups of people to focus towards. In school the crowds we mainly focused on were the sports, clubs things like that. My senior year things stayed the same MEDIUM wise, but we took on a lot more business. Working the Tiger Paw Publishing shop through the school we weren’t allowed to be paid actual money for the jobs done. So as graduation night came around my teacher Kelly White rewarded me as the first person to receive a scholarship through the Tiger Paw Publishing shop. I was given a scholarship personally by Kelly White and Principal at the time. The years went on I didn't pursue college, I found myself working various jobs (Hardee’s, Gamestop, a few factories here and there.) Then in the beginning of 2017 I thought to myself what do I enjoy doing and it hit me. I LOVE making t-shirts, decals, signs, banners, logos, the whole 9 yards. So when tax time came I purchase my equipment and within 1 weeks time I had made half my investment back in profit. I was tickled to death with the results of me taking a risk in myself. I have since picked up on business to the point that I quit my full time job at and started my own full fledged business. I personally love what I do, I enjoy every minute of it and within 1 months time of me being my own boss I can’t and don’t see myself working another normal job ever again. I want to provide good quality t-shirts at a decent price to fit the wants and needs of my customers. If you would like a custom t-shirt or decal feel free to contact me VIA Facebook messenger. Down the road I will be doing business through phone but for right now I would like to stick to Facebook, this way I can talk to you instantly, get feedback, send pictures of MOCK UP designs so you can see your shirt before it’s made and you get exactly what you are wanting. Thank you and welcome to The Vinyl Shop!
