A shift in weather has happened in Leelanau County. It's still sunny and warm, but we can tell that cooler days are around the corner. This also means that a shift in atmosphere has happened also. "Slower" days don't always mean "bad" for a small business- it just means that things are a little different than they've been for the past 6 weeks or so. Space to breathe. Space to give our customers undivided attention. Space to catch up on things that we may have been putting on the back burner.

At the beginning of summer, when things start to get busy around here, we often hear the locals say "well- see you in the fall" and then they scurry off to their quiet corners while Leland comes to life with the magic that summer tourism brings. If that sounds like you- it's safe to come out now 😆 (well, on the weekdays anyway).

Straightening shelves can be so satisfying sometimes. But what I really want to know is- why are the Sale sweaters ALWAYS a disaster? I swear, I'll turn around 5 minutes after re folding them, and they're all jumbled again.

Thank you to each and every one of you who showed up for sidewalk sales. Whether you showed up specifically for bargains, or if you stumbled upon Leland in full sale mode- we felt the love. Thank you for shopping small.

I really only took a few photos the entire weekend and my favorite was of this changing leaf. Seasons are changing and our Fall inventory is trickling in.

We will be open on Saturday from 10-6, and closed on Sunday. We need a little breather. We'll be back next week on Monday at 10am ❤️

We are gearing up for Sidewalk Sales on August 6th & 7th. We can't wait to bring you some great quality pieces at even better prices.

These bargains help small businesses clear out some old inventory to make room for fall goods, and help you treat yourself to things you might not normally be able to justify if they were full price. It's a win/win.

If you're able, bring cash! This helps reduce our credit card processing fees on days where we are already offering steep markdowns. Also- bring a shopping bag if you can- this helps us be sustainable in more ways than one.
