Hello All! So… as I have seen on FB that Foothills Boots is still getting views, I wanted to make this post before I take that much needed social media break. I run into what were “loyal customers” and they are surprised that FHB was closed , and so quickly, too! Well, I had some family issues that had arisen and I knew I needed to be home and available. I had the store up for sale. Actually had it sold. I couldn’t get the lease assigned to the buyer in the time frame the buyer wanted and the buyer finally- walked. So, I had about 6 months left on the lease, a store full of boots and no other place to move to. My “bread & butter” customers drove the big trucks— utility, tree service, farm, construction, landscaping, etc,—- and there didn’t seem to be much, at that time, that was available that could accommodate those customers. I had no idea how to fix any of this, because my plan was to sell….for the store to remain….But the property owners and leasing agent sort of put an end to that. BUT THEN—-My GOD. My situation was mentioned to (what had been) a competitor. They reached out to me. After some discussion, they not only bought the inventory, but everything else. And in ONE DAY, I was out of the boot business. It did happen fast. The door opened and I ran through. However, it seems that I have not slowed down at all. My “big” brother (disabled from a car wreck in his youth) recently widowed, has moved in with us. AND I spend as much time as I can with our grandsons. So, I’ll be trying to take down the web page and disable the social media accounts…..please know that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU that through the doors have been an absolute blessing to me. God bless you and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
