We are looking for a Women's size 8/Medium fit Model located in Columbus, Ohio. The model has to meet the specific measurements in order to accurately evaluate the fit of the clothing. Being familiar with Carhartt, Ariat, and Wrangler is a plus. This will be a 1099-contractor job.

Size 8: Height 5'6″-5'8″, bust 37, waist 29, hip 39

Fit Models work with Technical Designers to check the fit, drape, and comfort of a garment during the fitting. Photographs taken during fittings are not for advertising or promotional purposes, the face is not included in the photos, and images are only used for communication of fit problems with the manufacturer.

The number of hours we may need your services can vary from week to week, but we try to maintain the same weekly fit day and time. We are looking for someone who is available one day a week for 2-3 hours. We schedule our fit sessions during normal business hours, 9am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday, and can work with your schedule.

We are always looking for fit models, and we change fit models on a regular basis. If we do not have an immediate need for a model in your size, we will keep this application on file and contact you when we need a new model.

Fit for Purpose.

I found this really interesting article online from Internet Retailing that talks to the hurdles of finding the right fit of clothes for the virtual shopper that can't try on the garment, and how we can help support them with different tools as a retailer.

What is a Tech Pack?

A Tech Pack is a blueprint created by a technical designer. It contains all the components and instructions required for a manufacturer to turn your design into a finished product. That includes materials, gradings, seams, colorways, measurements, trim, labels, etc.

What does a good tech pack include?

*Technical drawings, CAD, construction notes, dimensions, and fit log: Annotated flat drawings showing a front and back view and close-ups of any design details such as packets, pleats, etc., seams, bartacks, stitching details, and a table with all product dimensions and the size and placement of each component.
*Quantities & sizing: A table indicating the quantities you are looking for and the size split.
*Materials: Information on each key raw material that makes up your product, with name, colorways, composition, weight, finish, and a nominated supplier if you have one.
*Components: Information on each component that makes up your product – embroideries, prints, labels, buttons, tags, threads, trims, fastenings, and embellishments.
*Sample and fit feedback
*Order details: Desired delivery date, bulk production delivery address, and details on how you want your products packaged and packed.

Why is a tech pack important?

1. Reduces mistakes and improves communication
2. Acts as a production manual
3. Reduces lead times and avoids delays.
4. Saves time with future collections

A tech pack can be referred back to at any time. When starting the next collection, slight changes to certain elements of your product are sufficient and tech packs can easily be reused.

A tech pack is a document containing all the technical information about your product, and is an essential element when producing new fashion collections.
