Announcement time and long post ahead...
Things are changing for me. I never imagined I would be a teacher. But this business that I have had for 10 years (as of July) taught me so many things, and lead me to a job doing marketing/PR work, then into teaching. Due to the years spent in this industry I have been able to dive headfirst into Career Technical Education... and I LOVE it. Every day I get to teach around 150 students real world, hands on stuff about business management, marketing, and digital media.
This year I took the first middle school chapter from Idaho to Business Professionals of America's National Leadership Conference, and...they placed in the top 10! I have really exciting things happening in my program, with industry standard equipment and certifications available to my students. I guide student leaders and yearbook staff. They are doing amazing things and we are only getting started. I am really proud of what my students are doing and I feel very fulfilled.
Really great opportunities are becoming available to me through teaching, which all began due to this business. I get to work at the University of Idaho College of Engineering this summer where I will be collaborating with industry partners and learning about STEM careers and opportunities to share with my students. I will be learning and teaching how to code and reviewing their outreach materials and activities. I also get to learn how to 3D print! Additionally, I have been hired to teach online classes part time for Idaho Digital Learning Alliance starting this fall.
I used to think I would be doing the boutique thing forever. Especially after winning Idaho's Online Boutique of the Year. I owe more to this business and to all of you than I can express on here. It truly has given me so much. But because of this business, I get to do what I really feel like I have been called to do. Also, the twins think they need my boutique space for their hang out room and they are probably right...
So, that being said, things are changing. I love this community we have built together and that will not be going away. I am not closing. But, things need to *shift* (that seems like a good word for it) and I will be re-launching eventually in a different way without having all of this in-stock/on hand inventory. Maybe a little, but I have a lot on hand that is just sitting as I am pulled in other directions.
Here is what you need to know:
-Please do not purchase through the Comment Sold app. It will be cancelled by the end of the month.
-MOST things, not everything, will be auctioned off in the group Sonora Roads First Dibs & Auction House. We will be having lots of auctions, probably 2-3 a week.
-Please stick with me for some good deals. After most things are gone, I will keep y'all updated on a re-launch situation and what that looks like. If you have any friends who love a good deal and would want in on these auctions, please add them to the group!
-Lastly, I just want to say thank you one more time. Thanks for supporting me and believing in me. Because of you, I get to support and believe in over 550 students a year and share opportunities with them. Guiding them in their dreams is a gift, and I have all of you to thank for that.
