Most of us are familiar with the eleven vintage Fiesta colors, but the Homer Laughlin company not only made fiestaware but also other solid color tableware lines, like the Woolworth's exclusive Harlequin and a smaller line called Riviera. There are others, but those three are well loved and documented. Harlequin was introduced late in 1936, close to a year after the fiestaware line had proven its popularity, and Riviera came along shortly afterwards. New colors were used in those lines that were never used on the fiesta shapes. The Harlequin and Riviera Blue (which has taken on the popular name of mauve), a green (we refer to as spruce), Harlequin Red (known as maroon) and a brighter yellow. These unique colors were never used on fiestaware yet hold a special place in collections and I'm happy to have pages dedicated exclusively to them. Check out Harlequin Blue:

What do you all think of these colors?

The Kitchen Kraft covered jugs underwent a confusing number of revisions and following their history in the Homer Laughlin modeling logs is a dizzying endeavor. Ultimately two sizes were produced, the large version (measuring just shy of 6" tall) and a medium sized version which stands 5 1/2" tall. The larger size was modeled first and was in production between July of 1937 and Febuary of 1938 when it was replaced with the medium sized version. The larger jug has a single step fl**ge on it's lid while the smaller jug has both a thicker lid and a distinctive two step fl**ge under the lid. Both versions can be considered hard to find in any size or color.
