It is with deep sadness we inform you of the passing of the beloved Sheryl Filler.
Sheryl went home to be with Jesus surrounded by her family.

There will be a funeral service held at the Libby Assembly of God Church on December 19th at 11:00 AM.

Heaven gained a glorious angel. Until we meet again Sheryl.

⚠️Ross Creek Cedars Nature Trail Improvements & Upcoming Closure⚠️

Winding through an ancient grove of enormous trees, the Ross Creek Cedars Nature Trail on the Three Rivers Ranger District is one of the most visited sites on the Forest. As part of a Great American Outdoors Act funded project, the area will be undergoing much needed improvements beginning as early as April 2025.

This project will improve the existing nature trail to provide a consistent, sustainable trail surface that meets Forest Accessibility Standards for all users while protecting the grove and other vegetation from the high visitation rates and better defining the route.

To ensure public and contractor safety, a closure order is anticipated to be in effect in the area from April through September 2025. Please plan accordingly and visit other wonderful destinations on the Kootenai National Forest.

Did you know the Libby Dam is hosting a youth hunt this year for 10 lucky youth hunters? The Lake Koocanusa Youth Deer Hunt is being held to provide a recreational opportunity to the next generation, promoting wildlife management, stewardship, comradery, and respect for the sport and animals. This hunt is an effort to provide proper access, facilities, and other needed resources so these individuals can enjoy a safe and successful recreational experience!
