I own very few pieces of jewelry that I consider favorites.

There’s a turquoise nugget necklace that I saved my money for more than twenty years ago, a pair of leather earrings that I made myself a few years back, and an Alice Bracelet.

Maybe the reason I love wearing the Alice Bracelet is because it reminds me of my mom. Or maybe it’s because I love the beads, the colors, and the aesthetic. Probably all of the above.

There’s something special about wearing a piece that has a story behind it—something handmade, something personal, something that simply feels like you.

We may be experiencing some of the hottest temperatures of the season this week, but inside my home, I’m all about FALL! 🍂

There’s a beeswax candle burning, I’m styling my home for my favorite season, and my house is beginning to fill with the unmistakable scents of autumn. The curing room is bellowing with the fragrance of all those Fall soaps, and honestly… life is pretty good for this soap maker.

Fall is such a brief interlude here at Bittersweet before our Holiday Collection takes center stage. So this year, I’m stretching it out as long as I can. I want to savor every bit of it—the cozy scents, the warm colors, the candles, and all those simple little things that make this season so special.

Sometimes you just have to slow down and enjoy the season you’re in.

I had enough response to my candle restock post to know there’s definitely some interest, so I’m going to make a dozen more beeswax Fall candles. 🍂

I have a new little family of doves at my house. Mama built a nest in my bushes and, before long, two babies arrived.

Every evening around dusk, Mama and Dad perch on the edge of my home, almost as if they’re standing watch. Now I understand—they’re keeping an eye on their babies.

This morning, one of them left a little feather behind.

A simple dove feather might seem insignificant to someone passing by, but I’ve always believed in the small gifts that nature delivers when we slow down enough to notice them.

I’m going to keep this feather as a little reminder to pause, pay attention, and appreciate these quiet moments—the ones that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

Sometimes the simplest things have a way of speaking to us. 🤍
By the way Doves are an interesting bird.

I typically make my cakes from scratch, but I was recently intrigued by this recipe and decided to give it a try. What a difference in flavor!

If you ever visited our shop, then you know just how much we loved pillows. I’m always amazed at how a new pillow or throw can completely transform a space.

For years, I’ve been drawn to neutral pillows—the soft creams, warm linens, and understated textures. But then I spotted this one, and it kind of changed things for me.

The beautiful brown pattern, the warmth, the character… it made me realize that a little pattern can bring so much life to a room while still feeling completely at home with neutrals.

Sometimes all it takes is one little change to see your space differently. And apparently, for me, that change was a pillow. 🤎
