Joy's Candles I make handmade soy candles and wax melts. All are triple scented. **Hours can change without notice. My candles burn up to 30 hours. We also make candle tarts.

History of Joys Candles

Business Hours: *********We are Always open online********* I started making candles back in 2008 for my mom, she wanted a candle that would help to reduce my fathers cigarette smell in her RV. So I got all the stuff to start making soy candles for her, as her friends came over to visit her and my dad, they were asking where she was getting the candles from. My mom was proud to say that I was making them for her and I started out just small.

After a few months I started making more and more candles as a hobby and to supplement my income because we lived in Florida, and I was the only one working at the time. I made about 40 candles and some of the candle melts and went to the local Flea Market in our area where I set up a booth for the day. Things started out slow because the Flea market started so early in the morning. It was about 8 am and I finally sold my first candle to someone, then it kinda took off there for the day before I knew it I was sold out on my very first weekend. I had to come home work a full time job and try to make some more before the following weekend, I did what i could and not thinking I had enough ready I waited a weekend and then went back out to the Flea market. I did this for awhile until I just got burnt out, and I stopped making them until 2015.

In 2015 I lost my job and we are now living in Ohio back where I grew up as a kid. I started making them again because i lost my job and no source of income. This is how Joys Candles was born. I got the supplies and started making candles and candle melts again. I started selling them to a local business at first then slowly started to go to some craft shows I was small only having 1 table at most of my shows, within 6 months i was up too 2 tables and finding my self doing a lot more shows. Before 2016 I was ready to add more to my stock and setup. In the later part of 2016 I was really growing my Fragrance list and by the time 2017 got here, I had 150 different scents we were doing a least 1 to 2 craft shows a month, we even did our local Fair which was a 9 day event. Making great friends and getting my product out there was a wonderful experience.

Since the Fair recently I have started to redo my formula for my candles, Pouring each candle by hand has never changed. I love making candles and being able to share my craft with everyone is a bonus. In 2017 we launched a web site www.joyscandles.com along with launching a etsy shop as well JoysCandlesLima. Since we launched the Etsy shop my product has hit 17 states. I am continuing to grow. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my story.
