Go Go Flamingo 🦩✨

Phase Vintage Market has officially adopted flamingos!

After an overwhelming public vote (100% yes) the hot pink icons have arrived.

They’re settling in nicely and are preparing for their public debut.

Catch them roaming the market May 16th alongside vintage finds, local artists, makers, and what will likely be questionable levels of flamingo related enthusiasm

We had so much fun at our first market last October… we had to bring it back—bigger, better, and all summer long!

Join us in Historic Havelock for an outdoor market featuring 10+ local vintage sellers, artists, and makers—with new vendors every month, so every market feels fresh!

I think this might be one of the coolest vintage tags I’ve ever found.

But that’s not what drew my attention.

I picked this up for the color.

That soft teal. The subtle acid wash. The material —somewhere between sport and lounge but in a way I couldn’t quite place.

It’s been in the shop for 6 months—and I’m honestly surprised no one tried it on.

This is Leggoons — a surf and streetwear brand founded in 1983 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Yes… Nebraska.

A landlocked, midwestern state producing bold, graphic, beach-inspired clothing—competing with brands like Ocean Pacific at its peak in the late 80s.

But the real story is this tag.

Not just a logo—
a scene. A mood. A little piece of nightlife fantasy stitched into the garment.

“Cool Wear.”
“Never kiss on the first date.”
“Don’t wear this in dark alleys…”

It’s witty. A little unhinged, and completely intentional.

There was a time when even the label had personality—
when brands didn’t just sell clothing, they sold a feeling.

I noticed that right away—but the more I learned, the more it stuck with me.

(And after sitting in the shop all this time, my husband tried it on and immediately bought it.)

This is the first post in a series exploring vintage tags—
the ones that feel more like art than branding.

Because sometimes the most interesting part of a garment
is the part no one sees.
