Dear Friends,
When we first wrote to you about closing swrve, we were filled with a mix of sadness, gratitude, and disbelief that our little idea — a single pair of knickers sewn in a tiny downtown LA studio — had grown into a 20‑year adventure that took us around the world and connected us with some of the most thoughtful, creative, and inspiring people imaginable.
You’ve heard us say it before, but it bears repeating: swrve was never just a business. It was a life we were lucky enough to live because you invested in us — not with venture capital, but with every purchase, every email, every story about where our clothing took you. You allowed us to build something small, stubborn, and deeply personal in an industry dominated by giants, and somehow we held our own for two decades. We remain humbled by that.
Over the past year and a half, as we began winding things down, we thought we were writing the final chapter. We were preparing to say goodbye, to clear out the last of our inventory, and to step into whatever came next for us. And then something unexpected happened — the kind of serendipity that feels scripted, the kind you only see in movies.
We found the right person to carry swrve forward. Actually, they found us.
Through a web of mutual friends and shared bike‑world connections, we discovered someone who not only understands what swrve is, but cherishes the same values that shaped it: quality over quantity, community over scale, and a belief that thoughtful design can make everyday adventures better. The alignment was instant. The trust was mutual. And the timing was perfect.
So today, we’re writing our final thank you and farewell as the proud parents of swrve.
