Update on the bookcase. Mostly stripped, so trying to get all the layers of paint off.

Trials so far:
I haven't used silicone molds before, so there's a learning curve.

Picture 1 is an acorn from "Oak Leaves and Acorns" mold, made using DAP Plastic wood. It didn't come out too poorly, and there was zero shrinking, but, as you can see in picture 3,( where I was too impatient to let it dry completely), the plastic wood seems too brittle for the longer molding pieces.

I also tried using clear UV resin (puc 2) because its what I had on hand. These didn't come out great, but I'm mostly unfamiliar with using UV resin as well, so that's my bad.

Next experiment is air dry clay.

Besides jewelry making and sewing, I like to pretend that I know what I'm doing when it comes to furniture restoration.
This is an old bookshelf gifted to me by friend and I've got lots of ideas for it. Recently I purchased some molds from and I'm experimenting with different materials to make some decorations for it.
