When it comes to the domestic work in the house, I’m very intentional about teaching my boys the things that they are going to do because it does not fall on just women. It’s actually adulting so these things need to be known. You need to know how to do it be OK with doing it and get it done.

Behind the scenes of creating a custom garment 👀🧵

People see the finished piece, but they don’t always see everything that happens before the garment ever reaches the client.

Sometimes we’re in the fabric store for 3 hours. Sometimes it’s more. Sometimes it’s less. And sometimes we can spend all that time searching and still leave without finding exactly what we’re looking for.

Some days are a win. Some days aren’t.

But ALL of that time, research, travel, sourcing, creativity, and effort goes into the price of a custom garment.

You’re not just paying for fabric and a finished piece. You’re paying for the expertise, the time spent sourcing, the problem-solving, the experience, and everything that happens in between.
