Here's a lil tidbit about life and where you choose to invest your time. You will encounter challenges whether you are blessed to work a 9-5 job or whether you work for yourself. I chose my "hard". And I will never look back. I'm worth it. You're worth it. The people who lean on me are worth it. I love it here. 💗

Thank you to all our friends & partners bts helping to first make our move, which was extremely tasking and our home on the busy street a reality. Especially those who keep on checking on the boss lady. Still some ways to go, but we're headed in the absolute right direction. Slow and steady...

Fun fact: we can actually stay open LATER into the evening...brighter streets, an actual back door, and neighbors to keep watch over us and in good company into those hours.,🙏💗

In the meantime we are handling our commitments in Altadena, and our offsite corporate accounts who bring us to their space to discuss the relationship of bras and ergonomics for women in office positions.

ONLY BECAUSE...we sell lingerie which focuses on the sculpt of a woman's body, and socially, beautiful lingerie, the bra included, is instantly associated with s*x (but never a woman's functional comfort) and because I know all too well the curse of the booty...the over s*xualization of a body part made first for function- literally the cushions on which we sit, do I speak on this. Not to mention it's still . Women deal with the heavy price socially just for having one or not.

Let's learn a little about Sarah Baartman also known as Saartjie Bartman. Bartmann, was a Khoekhoe woman who was exhibited as a freak show attraction in 19th-century Europe under the name Hottentot Venus, a name that was later attributed to at least one other woman similarly exhibited. The women were exhibited for their steatopygic body type uncommon in Western Europe that was perceived as a curiosity at that time, and became subject of scientific interest as well as of erotic projection.

Fast forward to modern times. Sara lives on. Only she's now paid and exploited via our music, tv and social media industry. Perhaps the money makes the emotional damage a little less damaging, maybe? Oh how times have changed.

The Sisters of Black Wall Street were a group of African American women who played a crucial role in the thriving community of Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma, also known as Black Wall Street.

During the early 1900s, Greenwood was a self-sufficient African American community with its own businesses, schools, and organizations. The Sisters of Black Wall Street were a group of women who were instrumental in building and sustaining this community.

These women were entrepreneurs, educators, and activists who worked together to create opportunities and improve the lives of African Americans in Greenwood. They established businesses, such as restaurants, hotels, and stores, and provided vital services like healthcare and education.

The Sisters of Black Wall Street also played a key role in the social and cultural life of the community, organizing events and activities that promoted unity and pride among African Americans.

Sadly, the thriving community of Greenwood was devastated by the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921, which left many homes and businesses destroyed and countless lives lost. Hence the outrage and despair over the recent devastation caused by the Eaton county fires, also symbolic of legacy loss. However, the legacy of the Sisters of Black Wall Street continues to inspire and empower communities today.

You can burn a book, eliminate our story from curriculum. But you can never erase a history as rich in this. We're living in it. The world is thriving because of it. African Americans face shaped this world in incredible ways. That cell phone you're reading this post on is proof being the brainchild of Black inventor Jesse Russell.

Not my usual type of post but figured I share. Let's have a discussion here:

I've always known I've hosted closet racists in my boutique. I've even been face to face with some who are very blantant. It's the by product of offering a product and service that ultimately forces people to your doorstep out of need. They pretend well enough to get by, but the ugly beast always rears it's head. An honorable mention: the explosive thrown into my window during Black History Month 2021. That was directed at beautiful window painting showing a silhouette of a black woman accompanied by the words "Woman of Color Serving Women of All Colors".

I guess they didn't like that. Was it the unifying messsge that killed the vibe? Idk

Alas, we were fine, thankfully. The window however was not.

TRUST AND BELIEVE WHEN I SAY: The most disrespected woman on this earth is the BLACK WOMAN. No crying here. Just facts. This is why we grind so hard with an unmatched gusto that's either appreciated or frowned upon.

I mean this sincerely when say I am ok. Folks will always attempt to steamroll over your joy. I am a woman and a very kind one at that. You would think that alone would serve as a protection especially against a man who is not even my primary client.

A man going out of his way to verbally harm or cause mental distress to a woman speaks volumes about the man himself.

Here's what I learned though: for every Joel, there are a thousand plus plus PLUS women AND men backing me up with love and support. So take that Joel.

Also, in life be prepared for the enemy to attempt to thwart your progress in one way shape or form. This is one of those times.

It never prospers.🙏 and on that note. Joel and I can agree on one thing. The previous I owner, my good AND loyal friend Michelle, is absolutely awesome. I like her too. 😊

Yesterday I did it all because Im capable, I could and because it made you smile.

Today I did it because I knew it is the key step to reaching my destiny.

To be resilient you must be safe, mentally, physically and spiritually. That is the plan. I trust in that.

Doors are opening as quickly as they're slamming shut. No brain surgery here. Stepping into the fullness of myself. It's graduation day.
