SEW DELICIOUS

Tex-Mex Ham & Cheese Casserole by Diane Mott Davidson

1 ½ cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 ½ cups diced ham
¼ cup picante sauce or salsa
3 ounces dices green chilies, drained and patted dry
5 pieces of sourdough bread, buttered and cubed (~ 4 cups of cubes)
2 large eggs
1 ¼ cups milk
¼ tsp cayenne powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp kosher salt

Preheat oven to 325 F (high altitude 350 F)
Butter a 9” x 13” glass or ceramic pan.
Combine cheddar and diced ham in a bowl and toss well. In another bowl, combine salsa and chilies.

Place 1 layer of buttered bread cubes in the bottom of the prepared pan; sprinkle with one half of the ham and cheese mixture. Carefully spoon half of the picante mixture over the ham and cheese. Place the rest of the bread cubes on top, sprinkle with the remaining ham and cheese mixture, then spoon on the rest of the picante mixture.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, milk and seasonings together until well mixed. Use a spatula, if necessary, to break up any clumps of paprika. Strain this mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the pan.

Bake uncovered for about 25 – 30 min or until the center is cooked and the casserole has turned golden brown. Serve immediately!

COLOR & DESIGN
w/ Sarah Ann Wells
starts July 7, 2026

Last year, we offered this course for the first time. Based on the positive feedback we received from those that participated, we convinced Sarah Ann to repeat it for us. So, come join us on a one year journey to unlocking the mystery of color! Ever wonder why some colors just don't work together and others make your projects pop? This is the course for you to discover the knowledge and confidence it will take to start boldly working with color.

The course book is by Heather Thomas, Color & Design. Books are available in the shop! Learn classic color theory and the principles of design. Learn and apply color terminology, color scale, color value, color dominance, color temperature, complex colors, design elements, line, shape, blending and form. Also, texture, size and scale, design principles, contrast and balance. Workshop lessons such as monochromatic quilts-exploring the use of color, scale and contrast provide opportunities to practice.

This course will provide you in-depth knowledge and a new understanding of color that will take your projects to a whole new level.

Class Fee- $400 for the course
1st Class Date - July 7, Noon - 4:00
then, class will be held on the 1st Thursday of Aug '26 - June '27

Are you ready to take your quilting to the next level? Get to know your Q Series machine better!

This class is for all Q Series owners and is FREE if you bought your Q Series machine at the Presser Foot. Each class, we'll demonstrate a different function or tool using QMatic and / or the Q Series longarm on the frame. You'll learn how and when to use all the amazing features that this quilting system has to offer you. This class is lecture / demo format with time for questions and group discussion, so bring your notebook and pen and your list of questions!
June's class will cover all of the basics of quilting the borders and sashing using Q-matic. We'll discuss how to size designs for borders, use markers and manipulate the design to make sure the quilted design will actually follow the border (because everyone's borders are always perfectly straight, haha), how to "turn the corner" with the design, how to remove the quilt from the frame and turn it to quilt the remaining borders and much more. Come and see lots of examples and ask all your questions about quilting borders and sashing!

Advanced registration is required. No supplies are necessary since this class is lecture / demo format, just bring your notebook and pen for taking notes.

Class Fee: $50 (if you purchased your QMatic / Q Series machine from The Presser Foot, this class is FREE)

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

Time: 12 Noon to 2PM

Instructor: Jenn Lowry

PLEASE NOTE This class is scheduled for the third Wednesday of the month, every other month.
