Most of my orders are for happy times, celebrations of birthdays, engagements, weddings and beyond. But a few times in my baking career, I have been asked to make something for a heartbreaking occasion. I was asked this past week to make a cake and cupcakes for the Celebration of Life for a man taken way too young. Cancer is a horrible disease and it took a husband, father, son and a friend away from so many people. Thank you, Shelbi for asking me to make the cake and cupcakes for Phillip’s service. My heart hurt for you with every minute of making your order. Sometimes baking makes me cry for my customers, but I am always honored to be asked to do something for such events. May the Verratti family be surrounded by love as they go through this difficult time.
