Last week, we opened our studio for a 2-day archive sale. 
It was hectic. It was joyful. And mostly, it was a reminder of why we do this. 
We got to see so many of your faces—some familiar, some new. We watched you try things on, heard your stories, learned what you reach for and why. We saw pieces find their people. 
There’s something about being in the same room that email and websites can’t quite capture. The conversations. The laughter. The way you move through the space and touch the fabrics. It reminded us that this work isn’t just about what we make—it’s about who wears it and how it becomes part of your life. 
So this is just a simple thank you. 
Thank you for coming to Gardner Street. Thank you for supporting what we love to create. Thank you for being part of this small, thoughtful community we’re building—one piece, one person at a time. 
If you made it to the sale, we’re so glad we got to meet you or see you again. If you couldn’t make it, we hope to see you soon at the studio. The door is always open (Monday-Friday, 12-6 PM, or Saturdays by appointment).

This season, the weight of inequity, violence, and harm to both people and the earth feels especially present.
We hold close the belief that rest, care, and small, everyday joys are ways to soften that weight — not to ignore it, but to replenish ourselves so we can keep showing up with care and purpose.

Just in: Two new pieces made for slow days and easy dressing. The Praia Caftan and Tunic are both cut and sewn in our LA studio using embroidered cotton from our trusted partners in Turkey.
Both are now in New Arrivals.

April showers bring May flowers! We are glad to be in the sunshine and look forward to gardening this summer. 🪴

This morning—

the first with quieted lungs— now able to breathe in & exhale without convulsive cough or gasp for oxygen.

Not fully recovered, still resting in bed, I hear the morning ritual of our resident squirrels on our rooftop scampering & leaping across and up & down the California Oak and its nearby non-native eucalyptus tree— both their vast networks of roots forming together a miraculous subterranean life force —scaffolding together the decomposing granite earth that supports foundation to our hillside home.

This morning’s sun is clear yellow— complimentary on the color spectrum to the expansive blue that is a typical mid morning sky —the first of many days—not engulfed by the storm-cloud of vermillion & charcoal ash. (continues in comments)
