It was truly an honor to present the Milton S. Hersey Award to Rize Credit Union in recognition of their incredible contributions to Comfort Cases. The award was received by our friend, Lenny Vallone, Chief Growth Officer, who launched the remarkable campaign that included an Insanely Soft Hoodie in every Comfort Case.
Comfort Cases is one of the nonprofits that Barely Canadian proudly supports, and it holds a special place in our hearts. Founded by our friend Rob Scheer, this organization is dedicated to ensuring that children in foster care are treated with dignity and compassion.
Did you know that on any given day, over 368,000 children in the United States are in foster care? Most of these children are removed from their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. Many are given a simple trash bag to carry their belongings, stripping away their sense of security and dignity.
Comfort Cases strives to change that reality by providing each child with a meaningful, personal bag that they can call their own. Every child deserves to pack their belongings in a special bag, wear cozy pajamas, have a brand-new blanket, and hug a soft stuffed animal during their difficult transition into foster care.
