read to save your {creative} life:

This book is called Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and in my latest episode I share stores about what I learned from applying these lessons in real time. It is Part 1 of a two-part exploration on what it means to be a ‘great creative’, and can be found on Apple Podcast or Spotify :)

If this opened your mind, I urge you to RUN, don’t walk, to mark up your own copy of Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Xoxo

Why do we never have enough time? How does the culture we live in influence our scarcity of time? And what are other ways of viewing how to use it? Through the experience of applying more effort & yielding poorer results while designing a piece for a runway show, we explore why we live in an age where time behaves paradoxically to how we typically best encourage it to be used.

In this episode we explore: Absolute Time, Subjective Time, Temporal Perspective, Linear / Cyclical Nature of Time and much more.

New Episode out now!! You can find it by search The Why Intercept on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!

can u BELIEVE we created our very own (sustainable) stimuli-responsive material ???? god I love science.

By treating the fabric with tumeric, we were able to make it turn this yellow fabric into a pretty red color, as well as imbue it with the properties of being a pH indicator (i.e a material which is responsive to acids & bases). Adding lemon juice (acid) turned it back to a pretty yellow, and washing the acid out brought it back to red. The fact that this can go continue to go back & forth between colors is INSANE to me!!! we did it!!

PSA: we are pivoting!!! Thank u for sticking by me :’) I feel that trying to make cool/unique/sustainable clothing *affordable* is a noble goal, and I’m not yet willing to try giving up on it completely. While I know my timeline is going to be embarrising my optimistic, who cares!! We live & learn baby. Here’s to a next chapter of prototyping 💛⚡️🫡
