[IN TRANSITION] — GANNI
Fashion companies rarely change overnight. More often, the shift happens gradually — through materials, production methods, sourcing and long-term targets.
GANNI is a good example of that transition.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2000, the brand has grown into one of the most recognisable names in contemporary Scandinavian fashion. Over time, reducing its environmental impact has become a larger part of how the company develops its collections and operates.
In 2025, GANNI reported a 32% reduction in absolute CO₂ emissions, while 85% of the materials and fibres it used were classified as Preferred — materials with a lower environmental impact according to the brand’s internal scoring system.
Through its Fabrics of the Future programme, GANNI is testing alternatives to conventional materials. The brand phased out virgin leather in 2023 and now uses alternatives including recycled leather such as PELINOVA®, made from reclaimed leather scraps blended with TENCEL™ Lyocell.
Its next step is Gameplan 3.0, covering 2026–2028, with further targets around emissions, materials and circularity.
We’re launching a new series: [IN TRANSITION] — looking at how brands are gradually moving towards more responsible and sustainable ways of working.
