Union Los Angeles

Union Los Angeles Union first opened its doors in NYC in 1989, followed shortly after by the LA chapter, which is now the only remaining door. Respect

Our concept is simple we walk the line of fashion and function. Our current product mix is the strongest it has ever been. Union first opened its doors in NYC in 1989, followed shortly after by the Los Angeles chapter, which is now the only remaining door. We like to offer functional clothing that has subtle fashion sensibilities. It is our opinion that most fashion designers/brands will offer des

ign which makes for clothing that is more costumey. On the other hand functional clothing is boring and uninspiring. We find brands that mix both worlds giving our customers more freedom to express themselves without looking like they are playing dress-up. Our history is steeped in offering clothing and fashion differing from what you can find in department and chain stores. We have always prided our selves in the fact that we give customers an option outside of the mainstream. The way we have been successful at this is two pronged; finding new designers and brands and/or finding brands and designers from overseas and introducing them to the US market. We've always tried to keep an element of the store where we give young up and coming designers a place to showcase and sell their goods. As a direct outcome, we have become a store that has "broken" many brands here in America, of which most have gone on to great commercial success.
..and while we are always searching for "the new", we also have a sturdy foundation of tried and true brands that we have strong long standing relationships with. We feel that although we are looked at as trend setters, we never carry clothing in here that is "trendy." Please come thru and check for yourselves.

The “Union U Field” General” Started with our update on an 80’s football cleat, but we never intended to make a strictly utilitarian shoe. Instead our Hope was to design an instant “Street” Classic. So instead of taking it to the field, our campaign centers around the culture of football as opposed to the sport itself. Friday night lights, marching bands, high school hallways, collegiate life “on the quad”, etc.

As a nod to the year I spent a at Grambling state university and the incredible energy I I witnessed around marching band culture we focused our story around three musicians, a drummer, a horn player, and drum major. Two of whom were former HBCU band members. Our trumpet player Keyana was in the Grambling State University Marching Band and
drum major Jonathan was formerly at FAMU.

Practice? We talking about practice? The storyline is about the
discipline, dedication, and hard work around perfecting your craft whether that be in the gym, music class, or elsewhere. Do the math…know the ledge.

THE GENERAL IS BACK!

Inspired by the good ol’ varsity days, the UNION x Nike “Union U” Field General brings together art, sport, fashion, and performance. Channeling the pageantry and energy of youthful, scholastic spirit, this shoe reimagines the 1982 Field General football cleat into a modern sportswear silhouette, perfect for today’s streets and hallways.

Both the Guava (UNION EXCLUSIVE) and Ivory colorways will be available Thursday, July 27th.
