At what point do we stop believing what we see?
I just watched a video of an indigenous artisan “selling handmade blankets.”
Clicked the link — mass-produced product. No connection. No truth.
This is where we are now.
Faces, voices, stories — used as surface. Not as reality.
So the real question is no longer “Do you like this?”
It’s: Can you verify it?
Craft has a signature.
Time, imperfection, origin.
You can trace it. You can feel it.
AI has none of that. It only imitates.
Going forward, trust won’t come from aesthetics.
It will come from provenance.
Who made it.
Where it came from.
And whether it can be proven.
