Chachi Prasad and Karam Kim, a husband and wife design team, are the founders of the premium denim line Bishop. With a passion for cooking, food and fashion, it

was natural for Chachi and Karam to be commissioned by restaurateurs and chefs, and in 2009 they created stylish, functional aprons for several establishments. Due to the great response from associates in the culinary industry, they scaled and developed a line of custom aprons that reflected the personality of the chefs and their restaurants. From there the concept blossomed. Beginning with a few sketches they created a line based on the idea of providing an alternative to the humdrum linen-service commodity wear that had been the norm for centuries. Instead they would offer a tailored fit featuring distinctive designs and quality craftsmanship with an edge. Their approach: “We dress chefs like rockstars.”

BlueCut aprons and chef coats are handcrafted in Los Angeles using the finest fabrics and materials. We use materials milled in America, Japan and Europe. Meticulous attention to detail goes into the recipe of our aprons, from the fabric, hardware, fit and the thread that binds it all together. These elements allow us to create a personal expression of the chef’s or restaurant's style in custom hand selected fabrics including, selvage denim, right hand twill, Japanese canvas, and other fine weaves.
