Teething gets blamed for everything — but here's what's actually true. 🦷

REAL teething signs: drooling, gum-rubbing, chewing on everything, a little extra fuss. What's NOT teething: a fever of 100.4°F or higher, diarrhea, vomiting, or congestion. Teething doesn't cause high fevers, so if your baby spikes one, it's worth a call to your pediatrician rather than chalking it up to teeth.

And a safety note: the AAP advises against amber teething necklaces (choking and strangulation risk) and benzocaine numbing gels. A clean, chilled teether or a gentle gum rub is the safer bet.

The baby fever cheat sheet every new parent wants at 2am. 🌡️ Save it now.

The single most important rule: if your baby is under 3 months and has a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher (measured rectally), call your pediatrician right away — even if they seem completely fine. Young infants are checked more carefully for a reason.

For older babies (3–24 months), how they're acting matters more than the exact number. And at ANY age, call right away for trouble breathing, a rash that won't fade when pressed, no wet diapers, or a baby who's very hard to wake.

Treat the child, not the thermometer — and always trust your gut. (This is general info, not medical advice.)

If bedtime with your 3-to-8-year-old has become a nightly negotiation, try this. 🌙

Start the wind-down about 45 minutes before lights-out (big kids need a runway too). Keep the same order every single night — bath, pajamas, teeth, books, bed — because routine is security. Offer two small choices to hand them a little control: this book or that one, blue or green pajamas. Get screens off at least an hour before bed, since the light tells their brain it's still daytime. And end on connection: one cuddle and "what was the best part of today?"

A calm, connected brain falls asleep faster than a wound-up one.

A brief and very confusing guide to toddler logic. 😅

The banana broke in half, so the day is ruined (and no, you cannot fix the banana). You gave them the blue cup they asked for — wrong blue cup, obviously. "I'm not tired," they announce, horizontally, eyes already closing. The sandwich was supposed to be squares, not triangles, and we are simply devastated. And of course: "I do it MYSELF" — and also, you do it. Simultaneously.

For babies under 2 months, the guidance is no chemical repellents at all: lean on stroller netting, lightweight long sleeves, and avoiding peak bug times like dusk.
