Happy Star Wars Day.
11 years ago I worked on Episode VIII and felt humbled by the fast and impeccable work by seasoned Star Wars designers and ILM heroes. They mastered speedpainting, 3D libraries, texturing, composition, lighting, polygon kit-bashing, and an unmatched understanding of Star Wars lore that made me admire the franchise more than ever. The works of peers such as , and took frequently my breath away.
My main take-away after the show was to finally learn Poly Modeling, which I now use exclusively in my conceptual work. A difficult but worth-while change when you come from a Nurbs base mindset. I thank the Force to push me out of my comfort zone 🚀
