Thirty years ago, tourism to Northern Ireland was almost non-existent. Now, the country's newfound sense of optimism is once again luring travellers to its shores.

It's a sunny Saturday evening in Derry, Northern Ireland, and Ebrington Square on the northern banks of the River Foyle is buzzing. Tourists enjoy a drink on the terrace of the newly opened Ebrington Hotel & Spa. A busker draws a crowd outside the Embankment Bar & Grill and drinkers at the Walled City Brewery overflow onto the pavement.

Chef Olivia Tiedemann loves flipping the bird to convention. Here are the Hamptons culinary experiences that get her thumbs up, from classic lobster rolls to elite farm stands.

When chef Olivia Tiedemann first arrived in the Hamptons to start the personal chef gig that would indirectly lead to explosive Instagram stardom, her first impression was awe.
"Coming from a very different lifestyle, driving up there for the very first time, where everything was so perfect," reminisces Tiedemann, now as famous for her punkish, bird-flipping, F-bomb dropping persona as she is for her elegantly plated dishes and the decadent pastas she whips up from scratch at midnight. "Pulling up to my client's house; this huge, immaculate beachfront mansion. It was very magical."

Despite a bogey at the 16th and a double bogey at the 17th, she carded a level-par 72 to finish on seven under, three strokes clear of compatriot Jin Young Ko, American Lilia Vu and Japan's Miyu Yamash*ta.

Yang was competing in her 75th major, the longest wait for a maiden victory since Angela Stanford won the 2018 Evian Championship in her 76th.

"I'm lost for words right now," said Yang, who was runner-up at the US Women’s Open in 2012 and 2015.

"You'll see a different Scotland" against Switzerland on Wednesday, midfielder John McGinn has pledged after opening Euro 2024 with a crushing defeat by hosts Germany.

A huge travelling support could not inspire the Scots in Munich as they fell to a 5-1 loss.

Switzerland joined the Germans on three points after a 3-1 win over Hungary.

The daughter of the late former Wimbledon and Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear says he and players of his generation were “let down” by the football authorities over the risk of dementia.

Kinnear, who played for Tottenham Hotspur, was diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease in 2015 and died in April at the age of 77.

Earlier this month it was revealed that his family are among a number of claimants taking legal action against some of the sport's governing bodies over brain injuries allegedly suffered during their careers.

The club's case was held on 24 April and an appeal board has upheld the original decision of an independent commission to impose the sanction.

The commission found Forest's losses to 2022-23 breached the threshold of £61m by £34.5m.

It means Forest remain 17th and three points clear of the relegation zone with two games left to play.

The three-person appeal board arrived at a "unanimous" decision to uphold the original ruling by the commission, describing it as "commendably clear and comprehensive".

"Some of the criticisms of the [original] decision have involved a minute examination of the words used by the commission," the board said of Forest's appeal.

"Decisions such as these should not be subjected to microscopic forensic examination and interpreted as if they were statutes which have been drafted by parliamentary counsel.

"Allegations of infelicities of language or errors which are not material to the ultimate decision add to the complexity and costs of proceedings and are rarely likely to lead to a successful challenge of a decision."

The men's FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United will kick off at 15:00 BST.

For the repeat of last year’s final between the same teams, the match has been bought forward from 17:30 BST.

The Football Association said the kick-off time was moved after being agreed with “the clubs, local authority, members of the safety advisory group and broadcasters".

City and United will meet at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 25 May.

Last year’s final between the two was the first all-Manchester FA Cup final, with Pep Guardiola's side winning 2-1.

The kick-off in 2023 was also moved to 15:00 BST following police advice, the first final to take place at that time for 12 years.

Five-time winners Barcelona came from behind to earn a slender advantage over Paris St-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in France.

Xavi's side were in danger of being overawed by a hostile Parisian crowd but the Barcelona boss used his bench to magnificent effect to turn the tie in their favour.

Brazil winger Raphinha gave them the lead, sweeping home a loose ball for his first Champions League goal after Gianluigi Donnarumma could only parry a low cross.

PSG responded immediately after the break though, with Ousmane Dembele firing into the roof of the net after a poor clearance and Vitinha finding the far corner after being fed in down the right.

Substitute Bradley Barcola then hit the bar for the hosts as they swarmed all over a Barcelona side playing at this stage of the competition for the first time since 2020.

Spain midfielder Pedri was introduced and his impact was immediate with a delightful ball over the PSG defence superbly volleyed home by Raphinha with the outside of his right foot.

Dembele clipped the outside of the post as both sides pressed, but it was Barcelona sub Andreas Christensen who found the winner, heading home a corner from four yards after being left unmarked in the centre of the goal.

The second leg takes place in Spain on Tuesday, 16 April.

Having been at the centre of arguably the biggest and most drawn out transfer saga in Women's Super League history, it was always going to be tough for Alessia Russo to live up to the hype.

After months of speculation and a rejected world record bid in January 2023, the England striker moved to Arsenal from Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer.

Russo, who has been one of the most recognisable names in English women's football since her starring role in the Lionesses' Euro 2022 triumph, has had a solid start to life at the Gunners with six goals in 16 WSL appearances this season.

But Arsenal have underwhelmed this campaign - knocked out of the Champions League in qualifying and six points off the WSL title pace - and Russo has found herself out of the team for some of the biggest games.

She started on the bench for the recent WSL blockbusters against Manchester United at Emirates Stadium and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Sweden's Stina Blackstenius preferred as the starting number nine.

Russo, speaking to BBC Sport before the Continental Cup final on Sunday, 31 March, took a philosophical view of her first season at Arsenal - while admitting it has not been smooth sailing.

"I have learned a lot about myself as a player and as a person," the 25-year-old said. "It has been tough at times, but as a player at a new club you want to be able to contribute as much as you can, then you find your feet. But I have been loving it.

"It's always tough - every player wants to play, and they are lying if they don't say that.

"But we also have such a talented squad, and we work so hard in training every day that if anyone's moment comes, we can be called upon. You have just got to keep working hard and keep your head down."

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is set to miss up to four weeks with the muscle injury he sustained in Sunday's Premier League draw with Liverpool.

Ederson was hurt when he fouled striker Darwin Nunez for a Liverpool penalty, from which the hosts equalised.

Although the Brazilian carried on after receiving treatment, he had to be replaced soon after by Stefan Ortega.

Ederson, 30, is set to miss City's next Premier League game at home to title rivals Arsenal on 31 March.

He would also miss this Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at home to Newcastle, which is followed by the latest international break.

City have assessed the extent of the damage and told the Brazilian FA that Ederson will not be fit for international duty.

German keeper Ortega, 31, could also deputise for City's home game with Aston Villa on Wednesday, 3 April and their visit to Crystal Palace the following Saturday.

Liverpool "need miracles" to ease their injury woes as they prepare to host Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round, says manager Jurgen Klopp.

Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who has an ankle injury, is the latest player to join Klopp's absent players.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai are training, but remain doubts to face Championship side Southampton at Anfield on Wednesday.

On the injury list, Klopp said: "I wouldn't say it is much improved."

Gravenberch had to be carried off on a stretcher during Sunday's EFL Cup victory against Chelsea, although returned to the pitch - on crutches and wearing a protective boot - to join in with the trophy celebrations.

The 21-year-old Dutch international joins Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic and Diogo Jota on the sidelines.

Klopp said he would to have to wait to see how winger Salah, striker Nunez and midfielder Szoboszlai came through a session on Tuesday before making a decision on their involvement against promotion-hopefuls Southampton.

Midfielder Wataru Endo is also a doubt with a knock.

"Ryan is not available. It could have been worse, but it is bad enough to rule him out of this game and the next game. We shall see," said Klopp.

"We need miracles for a few players, so I don't want to rule them out for too long. But it is touch and go with a lot of the boys who were not available for the final."

Liverpool's landed the first major silverware of the season by beating Chelsea at Wembley and aim to keep in the hunt for all four major competitions they are contesting against Russell Martin's side.
