The first time I sang this song, I was a completely different man. I still had parents and grandparents living. The stakes weren’t as high when everyone I loved was still here.

Now I sing it with a completely different conviction — from a place of power and experience. The pandemic shifted everything. I went from only knowing God as my Father… to knowing Him as a big brother. An emotionally mature friend. The way I’m vibing with Him now has me rethinking everything I thought I knew.

And I want to be clear — I’m not a religious person. Religion divides more than it unites. This is personal. Tangible. Real. Something I’m experiencing even as I type this. It’s oftentimes frustrating hearing people asking me “Can you do just one more gospel project?” also recently there are people using their platforms to spread misinformation that I no longer sing gospel as B.Slade. I’ve always been a multi-genre artist and producer and I’ve NEVER stopped releasing gospel. This isn’t everything I’ve worked on in the inspirational gospel department as B.SLADE but there’s plenty here that I know most of you have never even heard of before so please quit harassing me do your homework and enjoy yourself👀🤷🏾‍♂️😂🥵

B.Slade fans will have something amazing to look at over the next 18 months. Something big is upon the HORIZON. Keep a sharp lookout. So many things have already been decided so there's really no choice in the matter. I'm looking forward to seeing this era unfold in front of us all in real time.

Sometimes the most creative thing you can do is stop trying so hard to be creative.

I’ve learned there’s no single way to make art. No rulebook. No finish line. Art isn’t about chasing the last win or trying to top yourself every time. It’s a feeling. A knowing. Curiosity. Courage. Letting life live you a little.

I used to get stuck trying to be who I thought I was supposed to be, instead of who I needed to be right now. That mindset will slow your spirit down fast. Growth doesn’t come from staying parked in past victories. It comes from moving, experimenting, living.

Faith to faith. Project to project. Becoming more honest each time. Not more perfect.
