Sony just announced it's ending physical disc production for all new PlayStation games in January 2028. 📀

The company that launched the disc era in 1994 is walking away from it. Physical game spending has dropped from $11.6 billion in 2008 to $1.5 billion last year. Streaming took music. Downloads took film. Now discs are next.
